About Me:
Timothy Simon is a Las Vegas based technical director and artist. He has an MFA degree in Theater focusing on Technical Direction from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a BA in Theatre Design and Production from Stockton University.
He has been the technical director for many productions for the Nevada Conservatory Theatre and also was the technical director for the show, It Is Art? produced by the CFACoLab which was presented at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and received a five-star review from The Scotsman newspaper.
Timothy has also presented multiple times at the United States Institute for Theatre Technology’s annual conferences. Received awards for his technical direction work from the Southeastern Theater Conference, included the 2024 John Spiegel Theatrical Artist Award and 1st place in the Technical Direction section of their Design Competition for his work on NCT's production of The Cherry Orchard. He also received an honorable mention from the Sphere XO Student Design Challenge for his artwork design for The Sphere in Las Vegas.
Outside of theater, Timothy has also worked in the film world on a few different productions in multiple positions and currently works as a freelance camera operator for special events for The Synshop Livestream. He also is an artist working toward creating three dimensional artwork that combines technology, digital fabrication, and traditional fabrication to create truly unique pieces, especially pieces that have motion and interaction to them.
